Let's get walking...

Pathways

Discipleship is a journey. Pathways are a way to walk it together.

Jesus didn’t just teach people. He spent time with them. He noticed where they were and invited them to take the next step. That’s what Pathways are designed for—walking in faith through real conversations in everyday life.

Whether it’s with one person or many, Pathways make the journey more relational, more flexible, and more grounded in people’s actual lives.

What is a Pathway?

Simply put, Pathways are step-by-step discipleship conversations that help people grow in faith.

They’re not a course. No deadlines, no pressure.
They’re not a program. No signups, no waiting.

They’re a way to walk with someone through practical next steps—whether it’s learning to pray, following Jesus, or discipling others. You can start one anytime, in person or over chat.

The best way to use Pathways is inside the WithYou App, where conversations are secure, guided, and easy to follow. But they also can work in WhatsApp, SMS, or any chat platform.

A Pathway Only Works When You Walk It

At first glance, a Pathway might look like an outline of a list of steps.

But it’s more than that. It’s a shared journey built on relationship, not just information. When used as intended, they open up space for reflection, dialogue, and small steps of obedience that fit life’s real rhythm.

What makes it a Pathway is the commitment to walk it together. One person steps in, and another supports them through listening, follow-up, and encouragement.

  A Word of Caution:

Its easy to mistake reading for doing.

When viewing a list or outline,  it can feel like progress just to read through it.

But transformation rarely happens that way. Pathways aren’t meant to be consumed—they’re meant to be lived. They’re strongest when shared in conversation, where reflection and action stay at the center.

They invite movement, not just insight. Even slow movement counts.

Two ways to share a Pathway

Not every conversation—or relationship—needs to follow the same rhythm. Some people prefer to see everything up front. Others engage more meaningfully step by step. What matters most is recognizing what fits the moment, relationship, and context.

One Step at a Time

  • Create space for reflection and real conversation
  • Helps when someone feels overwhelmed
  • Best for heart work or slow, Spirit-led moments
  • Teaching emerges through the process

All at Once

  • Good for seeing the big picture first
  • Useful when planting a seed or exploring solo
  • Helps in prayer, prep, or messaging

How to Share a Pathway

Step 1
Set the Tone

Before you send anything, invite them into the experience. Let them know this is something to walk through together—not just content to consume.

“Hey! I’ve got something I’d love to go through with you. It’s called a Pathway—it’s not just info, it’s a conversation we walk through together, step by step. Would you be open to trying it with me?”
Step 2
Wait for a Yes

Shared intent builds trust. Wait for their response before you move forward.

Step 3
Share the Pathway

You can:

  • Share directly from app to app
  • Use the app to send to another messaging platform
  • Copy and paste the link into any chat
Step 4
Follow Up

Following up is part of walking with someone. If the Holy Spirit prompted you to share, trust that He may also be prompting you to check in.

Ask how it went. What step did they take? Where did things land? You’re helping them keep moving.

“Had a chance to try the first step? How did it go? I’d love to hear where you ended up.”
