This Privacy Policy explains how WithYou Network Services Inc. (“WithYou,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Services.

Account Information. You register an email when you create a WithYou account. These are used to provide our Services to you and other WithYou users. You may optionally add other information to your account, such as a profile name and profile picture. This information is end-to-end encrypted. You may use a subset of WithYou features anonymously, without signing in.

Messages. WithYou queues end-to-end encrypted messages on its servers for delivery to devices that are temporarily offline (e.g. a phone whose battery has died). Additional technical information is stored on our servers, including randomly generated authentication tokens, keys, push tokens, and other material that is necessary to establish calls and transmit messages. WithYou limits this additional technical information to the minimum required to operate the Services.

Contacts. WithYou connects people by direct invitation only. WithYou does not display which of your contacts are also using the platform.

Managing your information. You can manage your personal information in WithYou’s application Settings. For example, you can update your profile information.

Information We May Share. We work with third parties to provide some of our Services. These providers are bound by their Privacy Policies to safeguard that information. If you use other Third-Party Services in connection with our Services, their Terms and Privacy Policies govern your use of those services. We do not allow third-party advertisers access to your data. Other instances where WithYou may need to share your data include:

  • To meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
  • To enforce our Terms, including investigating potential violations.
  • To detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues.
  • To protect against harm to the rights, property, or safety of WithYou, our users, or the public as required or permitted by law.

Storing Your Data. Your data is securely stored inside of Google’s Firebase servers and protected by strong access rules. We will retain your data until you delete your account or request erasure under applicable law. You can make such a request by contacting us at privacy@withyou.net.

Updates. We will update this privacy policy as needed to ensure it remains accurate, clear, and up to date. Your continued use of our Services confirms your acceptance of our updated Privacy Policy.

Data Protection Rights. We would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

  • The Right to Access. You have the right to request copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
  • The Right to Rectification. You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request that we complete the information you believe is incomplete.
  • The Right to Erasure. You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The Right to Restrict Processing. You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The Right to Object to Processing. You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
